A disaster management drill was conducted in school on 16th November at 11:15 pm. Having made the students undergo the evacuation of the academic block and Dining Hall in the past this time the evacuation of the Boarding Houses was thought upon. The aim was to check the emergency preparedness and response of the students. Unlike previous drills where the students had prior information this time only the dorm parents had been taken into confidence to gauge the response of the students in real time. The siren rang at 11:15 pm and the students were warned about fire and made to evacuate. Each of the four Houses were able to do so in two minutes. Once out they were given the instructions on the do’s and don’ts during a fire emergency. The exercise was a huge success. The students were both relived as well as amused by the experience.
