The opening ceremony of IPSC Hockey U-17 Girls 2023-24 was held at VDJS on 24th August. Seven esteemed IPSC schools from across the country would be competing in the tournament. The eminent mountaineer and the conqueror of Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse, Ms Meenu Devi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Principal, Ms Naina Dhillon, presented Ms Meenu with a lily sapling as a token of regard which was followed by the unfurling of the IPSC Flag and declaration of the opening of the championship by the Chief Guest. The opening match was tightly contested by the host school VDJS and Welham Girls’ School. Jindalites scored twice in the first half and tightened the defence in the second half to strike an applauding win of 6-0. Ms Meenu congratulated the Jindalites for their commendable performance and also urged all the teams to work on their technical flaws to enhance their performance. The three-day tournament would offer a rewarding platform for the players to showcase their passion, confidence, dauntless spirit and skills, and also new learning experiences.
