Six Jindalites along with Teacher-in-charge, Ms Veena, attended a Round Square Conference from 5th-9th June hosted by The Lawrence School, Sanawar. The conference, based on the theme ‘Protect…Preserve…Progress…for sustainable Happiness’ offered a repertoire of enriching activities and valuable insights. The delegates joined Baraza groups named after birds found in Sanawar and attended a thought-provoking session on animal cruelty, wherein, the keynote speaker, Mr. Kartika Satyanarayana, Co-founder, and CEO of Wildlife SOS, shed light on the atrocities that are committed on the animals and the rescue operations carried out by his NGO. The participants were mesmerised by the heartfelt stories of Rituparna Ghosh, an expert in the art of storytelling, and the motivational talk by LT. GEN. Kamal Dawar (Retd) on the theme of ‘sustainable happiness’. The girls zealously participated in various activities, planted tree saplings on steep mountains, and created bird ponds to contribute to the well-being of the environment. They also got an opportunity to stay in the opulent village of Mahobaab. The conference rounded off with a captivating cultural programme. The sojourn in the picturesque hilltop ushered in new learnings to Jindalites about the significance of living in harmony with Mother Nature.
