Round Square Conference, Sunbeam School, Varanasi
Five Jindalites and the RS Representative, Ms Anindita Sinha, attended the Round Square Conference hosted by Sunbeam School, Suncity, Varanasi, from 7th -10th August. The conference, with the theme, ‘Connect to Conserve’, aimed to broaden the delegates’ horizons of wisdom and cultivate their global perspective. The event enriched the girls’ understanding of the rich cultural heritage of India, as they visited Chunar Fort, and toured “Obeetee,” Varanasi’s oldest handmade carpet factory, which served as a bridge between the past and present. The inspiring sessions on Indian mythology, by Mr Anand Nilkanthan, and on wildlife conservation by Mr. Nadeem Qadri, left a lasting impact on all who attended. The Baraza group discussions provided a platform for the delegates to exchange ideas, reflect on their experiences, and deepen their understanding of the conference’s theme. The stirring performances of “The Yes Who Said No,” a play on the collective sense of identity and responsibility, “Universal Chance,” a dance embodying the principles of hope and empathy, and the vibrant performance by ‘Shut up Crew’ left the audience deeply moved. The musical rendition by Mr Takar Nabam of his lyrical masterpieces, ‘Hello’ and ‘Quite: A Story,’ served as a window into the rich tribal culture of Arunachal Pradesh. The girls toured the Gramin School and painted the school’s walls. This hands-on experience instilled in them a profound sense of commitment to community service. The conference was a transformative journey of learning, growth, and cultural immersion for Jindalites.
