On 20th December on International Solidarity Day Vidya Devi Jindal School hosted an online Inter-School Seminar on the topic “Contestations are the manifestation
of protest against laws or lawful authorities, which help to establish solidarity in
the society.” The participating schools were Army Public School- Hisar, OP Jindal Modern School- Hisar, The Emerald Heights International School- Indore, Mayo College- Ajmer and Vidya Devi Jindal School- Hisar.
It was an educative seminar wherein the participants threw light on the genesis, nature and impact of contestation. Examples were quoted from all across the globe to substantiate their research paper. The violent and nonviolent contestations, the triggers and the outcomes were discussed in detail. The role of contestation in shaping public policy and strengthening democracy was also highlighted. The question answer round brought forth many thought provoking questions with cerebral responses.
The seminar was judged by Vice Principal of the Ecole Globale International Girl’s School Denhradun and Pushkar Mishra a Sociology expert. The Chief Guest was Ms Puja Pant, Vice Principal Ecole Globale International Girls’ School. The dignitaries showered accolades on the participants for their in-depth research and confident delivery.
We hope that with seminars like these the youth would be more aware and better informed.
