The School celebrated the Annual Sports Day on Saturday October 5, 2019. The celebration comprised the finals of the track events, Bad display, Taekwondo display, yoga drill, archery and shooting display and parachute drill. The trophies were awarded to outstanding players and teams of each sport.
Ms Shivangi Pathak, the youngest teenager to scale the Mount Everest from the Nepal side was the Chief Guest on the special occasion.
The Chief Guest honoured the salute presented by the contingent of the Bag Piper Band. The peppy Parachute Drill set the tone for the rest of the events. The track events filled the air with cheering and tons of encouragement for the athletes. The students displayed a wide range of energetic and bouncy sports events ranging from the Bagpiper Band display, pyramids and incredible formations of asanas in yoga and the head-height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques of Taekwondo. It was a moment filled with pride and honour to see the children performing.
In her address, the Chief Guest spoke about her journey as a mountaineer, the struggles, challenges and the joy that comes with achievement. She urged all girls to never give up on their dreams as everything is achievable with persistence and grit.
The winners were congratulated and given away the prizes.
Savitri House lifted the Overall Athletics trophy and the Sports Trophy was bagged by Sarojini House.
