Opening Ceremony -Vidya Devi Jindal School, one of the member schools of the IPSC hosted the All India IPSC Pre-Nehru Cup Under-17 Girls’ Hockey Tournament 2024 from August 11–13, 2024. The inaugural ceremony was held on August 11, 2024, at the VDJS Hockey Ground. Recipient of the Droncharya Award 2013, and former National Hockey Coach Shri Narendra Singh Saini, was the chief guest for the day. He is presently posted at the Sports Authority of Ranchi, Jharkhand. Mr. Azad Singh Malik, retired associate professor at HAU, Hisar, was the Guest of Honor. Dr. Monika Mathur, from MGD, Jaipur, adorned the tournament as the Observer, IPSC. The Administrator, Mr Nikhil Rudra, accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest by presenting him with a lily sapling. He hoisted the IPSC flag. This was followed by the ceremonial March Past and the introduction of the teams. Sports Captain Sahajpreet Kaur administered the oath of austerity to the participating teams. The Chief Guest then formally declared the tournament open. Teams from various prestigious schools all across India, such as Kittur Rani Channamma Residential Sainik School, Karnataka, The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, Daly College Indore, Mayo College Girls School Ajmer, and the host school Vidya Devi Jindal School, will vie for the champion’s trophy. The opening match was played by the Hyderabad Public School and the host school, Vidya Devi Jindal School which was, won by VDJS with a score of 15-0.

All’s well that ends well’ This can be rightly said for the All India IPSC Pre-Nehru Cup Under-17 Girls’ Hockey Tournament 2024 from August 11–13, 2024, which came to a close on August, 13 at the hockey ground of VDJS. Associate Vice President, HR Jindal Stainless Limited, Mr. Prahlaad Singh Chaudhary, was the esteemed chief guest for the evening. He was accorded a warm welcome by the principal, Mrs. Naina Dhillon with the presentation of a lily sapling. Ms. Monika Mathur, from MGD, Jaipur, was the observer for IPSC.
The team from Vidya Devi Jindal School won the final match by 3-1. Congratulations to all.
