The Jindal Art Festival, our marquee event, is held annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of our founder Father Late Shri O P Jindal Ji, popularly known as Bauji.
The event started in the year 1994 as an Art and Painting event, but over the years it evolved to welcome into its fold – dance, music and literary activities also.
We have hosted 26 successful editions of JAF in the past and true to the spirit of our
legendary Bauji we were determined that regardless of the unprecedented circumstances that we found ourselves in this time the Show must go on. So like every year, this year too we invited the best of creative minds from schools all across the country to showcase their talent in art, dance and music. While every year the participating schools competed for the coveted trophy this year we wanted to keep JAF as simply a celebration of talents therefore the events were kept non competitive.
We were delighted by the overwhelming response to the event as 17 schools participated in this mega event this year.
The programme commenced at 8:30 in the morning with the kindling of the ceremonial lamp, garlanding Bauji’s portrait and paying floral tribute to this visionary amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. A documentary covering the life of Bauji, the journey of the Jindal Art Festival and glimpses of JAF 2020 was shared with the entire school community and the participating schools. The entire community enjoyed this mahakumbha of talent albeit virtually.
The festival once again proved to be a melting pot of creativity and talents. No doubt we missed the unending practice sessions of the cultural performances, the bubbling excitement of the girls, the long and odd hours of work in the Art Department, the brainstorming, the convergence of students from all across, visits of eminent artists and what have you but what remained unchanged was the emergence of talent of our supremely gifted children.
A documentary of the celebration, life of Bauji and the glimpses of the entries by the different participating schools was shared with the entire school community and participating schools.
We will back again next year with something bigger and better.
