It was an auspicious and grand occasion as VDJS celebrated the 74th Republic Day and  Basant Panchami on  26th January to mark the glory of the Constitution of India and the birth anniversary of Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, music, and the arts. The festival began with the puja of the Goddess Saraswati followed by the unfurling of the National Flag by Ma’am Principal, Ms. Shalini Mehrotra. The auditorium reverberated with celestial blessings as the Jindalites sang the ‘Saraswati Vandana’ along with the school choir. The designated Vice Prefects of the Student Prefectorial Board for the session 2022-23 were appointed as officials by Ma’am Principal. Dr Shriram Gautam enlightened the gathering with the significance of Basant Panchami and the story of the birth of Maa Saraswati. In her address, Ma’am Principal shared with the Jindalites the importance of ‘Basant’ as it heralds the coming of the Spring season and the initiation of ‘new beginnings’ with their roots in the Indian constitution and culture. As curiosity and questioning are the core pillars of the Vedantas, the Humanities Department conducted the Inter-House Heritage India Quiz Final 2023 in the auditorium, not to just assess the awareness of the Jindalites about their motherland, but also to relive the glory of rich cultural heritage that India represents. In a nail-biting Final Round, Kasturba House held on to their nerves to pip Sarojini House in the tie-breaker to lift the coveted winners’ trophy. The winners were felicitated by Ma’am Principal.
