Jindalites participated in a Round Square Service Project: Nazariya II, hosted by Mayo College Girls’ School, at Ajmer from 8th -11th February. Along with delegates from other schools, Team VDJS worked together to make Bal Prakash Ashram, a school for the destitute, a better place for children to study. Jindalites participated in the task of putting the tiles on the approach way, painting the walls of the two storied school building including the classrooms and the dormitories, the cupboards, making sweets and cookies for the underprivileged students, they also taught them some of the concepts, and played with the children of the Ashram. The host school organised a cultural program for all the delegates and presented mementos and certificates to them as a token of appreciation for their efforts. During their stay, the girls visited the famous Brahma Temple at Pushkar, Ana Sagar Lake, and Dargah Sharif of Ajmer. The Project brought an important learning to the girls about the importance of being resourceful as they witnessed a different world, wherein the underprivileged students took up the challenge of getting educated with minimum resources and also without any gadgets in the era of internet and jindalites also experienced how little efforts can bring happiness to the lives of many.
