There is only one thing that can replace a book, the next book. A Magnolia Book Fair was organised at VDJS from 28th to 30th April 2023. In the collaborative effort, Jindalites were obliged to have Scholastic Publications and Scholar India Publications as co-organisers of the event. Ma’am Principal, Ms. Shalini Mehrotra, and Sir Administrator, Mr Nikhil Rudra accompanied by Class VIII inaugurated the Book Fair.  In no time, a wave of covetous readers filled up every corner of the LRC. One could see students competing for the last book left, the sprints would be forever engraved in the girls’ memoirs. From motivational books of Shiv Khera to books for Olympiads and then to the junior fiction beautifully crafted by Charles Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe, Sudha Murthy, and the spiritual guides of Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru, Gaur Gopal Das, our girls drenched every genre till they decided the best for them. Not only students but teachers too enjoyed being encountered by piles of books ready to be opened and read. The book fair had every book that enthralled every kid and excited the youth in old, the golden books of the legendary Harry Potter, Ruskin Bond, Shakespeare, Earnest Hemingway, and of course, Colleen Hoover tickled the fancy of every individual present at the Fair. This book fair for sure left every visitor flabbergasted, nostalgic, and ecstatic. As stated by Edgar Allen Poe, “Words have no fascination till they meet the soul of the reader.” The books that left the LRC are trustfully in good hands where their words would be cherished for as many years as they would live.
