Visit to Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, and Delhi

A four-day tour was steered for the Round Square Exchange Students, Gabriella Morrel and Ane Du Plasse from Johannesburg and their exchange partners from VDJS, Nandini Mittal and Anmol Rewar from April 25,2024 to April 28,2024 to introduce them to the rich and glorious culture and architecture of India. Students visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Mehtab Garden in Agra and Jodha Bai’s Palace, Panch Mahal, Lotus Throne, Diwan-I-Khas, Buland Darwaza, and Lotus Throne in Fatehpur Sikri a unique blend of Indo- Islamic and Mughal architecture. Students also toured Delhi and visited The Red Fort, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, and the National Police Museum. They had spiritual moments at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib and went shopping at Dilli Hatt, the colorful world of Indian art and heritage. The tour served as a first-hand experience of the exotic tapestry of diverse cultures and architecture of India for the students.
