The Fundamentals of POCSO and POSH Acts

Retd. Colonel Alankar Bhardwaj piloted a session on the ‘Fundamentals of POCSO & POSH Acts’ on 10th July for the staff. It commenced with a Quiz on the various clauses of the Act to assess the awareness of the staff about POCSO. He shared in detail the need, norms and distinct clauses of both the Acts with the help of case studies. He further exhorted the crucial role of the parents, educators, medical practitioners, and police to ensure the safety and security of a child under eighteen and that of the employer and colleagues to ensure a safe working environment for women in the workplace. The session concluded highlighting the need for sensitising women employees about their rights in the workplace and prompt response and action against such unfortunate cases in society.
