Visit to The Doon School On 9th July, team VDJS visited The Doon School, where Jindalites had an extensive tour of the numerous departments of the school, the Library, and the UNESCO-certified Heritage Building. During the tour, the heads of various departments of VDJS took cognizance of the functioning of the effective practices of The Doon School. The tour reflected the rich heritage and history of the Doon legacy, the creative and meticulous investment in the infrastructure and child centric effective pedagogies of the school.  Breakout sessions for academics, pastoral, sports, activities, IT & Careers were conducted by the Deans of the respective departments of the host school. After the refreshment break, the Headmaster, Dr Jaspreet Singh, the Deputy Headmaster, Mr Kamal Ahuja, the Dean of Pastoral, Ms Stuti Kuthiala, and the Dean of Academics, Mr Anjan Choudhary spearheaded insightful sessions on the multifaceted role of an educator as a reformer not only in the class but also in the crucial social and emotional realms of student life. The Headmaster, Dr Jaspreet Singh, elucidated the importance of a global education system, wherein no school can survive nor thrive in silos, and also stressed the delivery of knowledge while focusing on ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ in curricular and co-curricular activities for inculcating a spirit of research and creativity in the future leaders of the world. The VDJS Team had a detailed tour of the ‘pastoral system’ of the school, reflecting the hostel life of the pupils.  The visit came to an end with a sumptuous lunch all prepared with the in-house organic farming products of the school. The two heads of the school expressed their willingness for the effective sharing of the best practices by the staff body and also stressed on such productive future collaborations. The visit to the heritage school immensely benefited the VDJS staff and offered futuristic learning experiences
