A highly informative and comprehensive workshop on cyber security was conducted by Mr. Rakshit Tandon for Classes IV – XII and the VDJS Staff on 22nd July in the auditorium. Mr. Tandon holds numerous prestigious roles, including Director at HackDev Technology Pvt Ltd, Co-Founder of HACKERSHALA and CODESNAG, and Advisor for the Cyber Peace Foundation, and has made significant strides in cyber security. He spearheaded the session delving in detail the importance of staying safe in the digital world, and the various types of cyber threats, including malware, phishing, and hacking. Mr. Tandon shared real-life episodes to explain how these threats manifest and the potential damage they can cause. He also insisted on adopting safe internet practices such as creating strong, unique passwords and changing them regularly, identifying and avoiding phishing emails and websites, and keeping software and systems updated to protect against vulnerabilities. Emphasising the importance of privacy, he discussed the risks associated with social media and advised students to be vigilant about the information they share online and to regularly review privacy settings. He cautioned the students to be mindful of their digital diet and how their digital footprints can lead them into crisis.
