Editors Conference, Gwalior from 14th to 16th November 2024

A delegation of six students and Ms Shraiya Gupta, Publication Department, attended the esteemed Editors Conference hosted by The Scindia School, Gwalior Fort from 14th to 16th November 2024. With the theme, ‘A Stream Away from Mainstream’, the conference was attended by five schools including an international team from Germany. Distinguished media icons, Mr. Rasheed Kidwai, Mr. Bhavneet Singh Aurora, Mr. Saunak Shah, Ms. Nidhi Sharma, Mr. Arun Anand, and Mr. Sandeep Adhwaryu manoeuvred the event and provided students with valuable insights through a series of extensive workshops. The delegates were shuffled into new teams to curate a newsletter that fostered collaboration and teamwork. Surveys and interviews taken as part of the groundwork in the historical Bada Market served as sources of content and story derivation. Their hard work was finally deduced to a culmination of immersive newsletters, surpassing the ordeal of strict time constraints. The newsletters were critically analysed and appreciated by the mentors. The learning transcended beyond the school building with the students visiting the meadows of the Scindia Fort, witnessing an enriching light and sound show at The Mann Singh Palace and unfolding the history at Jai Vilas Palace. The conference enhanced a substantive skill set of budding journalists, photographers, and digital designers to prepare them for future endeavours.
