VDJS Team comprising 36 students and 4 escort teachers embarked on the IAYP Thar Expedition to Bikaner, Rajasthan, from 12th-16th December. Jindalites spearheaded the adventurous five-day expedition from the hotel, located within the historic Junagarh Fort complex.
Showcasing exceptional endurance and teamwork, the girls trekked a humongous distance of 38 Kilometers in the difficult and vast expanse of the Thar desert, and traversed through rural areas which was further challenged by the harsh weather conditions with extreme heat and cold during day and night time.
During their stay, Jindalites visited the majestic Junagarh Fort, where they marveled at its mesmerizing architecture and explored its historical significance, and the revered Karni Mata Temple, where they sought the blessings of the deity.
The camel ride and camel cart trek offered students a unique and memorable experience of the Thar Desert terrain. Their stay in pre-arranged tents, the bonfire complemented by a music session fostered camaraderie and relaxation among the students. Jindalites also witnessed a captivating cultural programme featuring traditional folk music and dance that provided a deep cultural immersion in the rich heritage of Rajasthan. The team explored the historic city and purchased the renowned handloom products at the local markets of Bikaner. The IAYP Thar Expedition proved to be an extraordinary triumph, with the students exemplifying unparalleled teamwork, unwavering resilience, and boundless enthusiasm at every stage of the journey.
