VDJS Staff dedicated the enchanting evening of 17th December to the students as they orchestrated a fantabulous programme that left them utterly mesmerised. The event was resolved to be kept a closely guarded secret to heighten the excitement of children, leaving them with eager curiosity. It commenced with the students’ welcome accompanied by delightful chocolates.
The solo singing performances of ‘Beautiful Day’ and ‘Damaa Dum Mast Kalandar’ captured the audience with their rendition. The dazzling fusion of Bollywood, Tollywood, and Pollywood dance, the stint on Michael Jackson’s ‘Dangerous’ and fluid and dynamic gestures on skates brought the spotlight to the grooves of the teachers, sahayikas and bhaiyas. The pastoral staff took centre stage with their ‘Lazy Dance’ reminding everyone of the heart and spirit they bring to campus life. The hilarious stand-up comedy, the roller coaster ride of twists in the Hindi language, and the ‘Magical Jar of Pickles’ infused the auditorium with giggles and laughter. The poetic narration of Lord Krishna’s call for peace before Duryodhan and a heartful presentation of a verbal crossword of Jindalites’ names inspired and charmed the audience. The crowning moment of the event was the opulent fashion show, where the teachers retraced their steps to famous Hollywood and Bollywood characters from James Bond, Robert Downey, Jenna Ortega to Shehenshah, Thakur – Sholay, Thalaiva, Pushpa-the Fire, Paaro and Mastaani, in their magnificent attires, leaving everyone stunned. The surprise of a subtle jig by the Principal, Ms Naina Dhillon, in the group performance on ‘Dil Dharakne Do’ and heartfelt messages by the staff in BTS electrified the auditorium.
The lively evening also witnessed Christmas Celebrations with beautiful Christmas carols and songs, filling the room with festive cheer as everyone sang along. Santa Claus greeted everyone with truckloads of love, affection, and blessings and wished a joyous and prosperous New Year.
