A campus tour was organised for Class IX on December 14th December, on the occasion of ‘National Energy Conservation Day’ to emphasise the importance of energy conservation efforts reflecting the theme of 2024, “Powering Sustainability: Every Watt Counts.” Students toured the Solar Power Plant and Water Plant and learned about the detailed processes involved in solar energy generation, the associated costs, how energy is supplied to the power grid, and the areas in the school where solar energy is installed and conserved. At the Water Plant, they discovered the river that supplies water, the treatment stages, and the volume of water treated. The students of Class VIII created ‘reminder plates’ highlighting energy conservation tips, and Classes IV-VII watched a video on various ways to save energy. There was a power outage at VDJS for one hour highlighting the importance of saving energy.
