A Self-Defence workshop was conducted at VDJS from 11th-16th November for Classes IV-XII by Deepi Shankar, Director, ‘Safe Campus’. Girls were oriented about the concept of Multiple Opponents Survival System (MOSS)- preparing one’s mind to deal with close-quarter combative especially when there are multiple attackers. Jindalites were coached in the techniques of hand grabs, waist grabs, kicks, and hand strikes and how to leverage one’s body to create an impact on the opponent, using hand strikes to create a ‘safe distance’ and sidekicks to impact the opponent’s knees. The session equipped the girls with powerful techniques to deal with adverse situations in life.
