Ms Dipti Shankar and her team from ‘Safe Campus’ conducted a series of sessions on ‘personal safety’ for Jindalites on campus from 22nd-27th April. The workshop aimed to equip the students to have ‘mental, emotional and physical’ boundaries for themselves and for people around them which would help them to have the courage to speak up and fight back in any given situation. The resource people focused on ‘ranges’ in real-life situations between the attacker and the victim and coached the attendees on how to analyse and respond accordingly to ensure one’s safety in odd circumstances. Case studies were discussed and self-defence techniques were practiced rigorously. The session came to a close with insightful interaction on the importance of body language, appropriate dress code, and reaction and response in various situations.
