VDJS Field Trips 2024-25

The educational excursions orchestrated on 8th November provided VDJS students a golden opportunity to learn through authentic experience while exploring real-world environments. The field trips offered hands-on experiences that complemented and enhanced the classroom learning of the students.

Doll Museum

Classes IV-VII visited the famous Doll Museum, Delhi, and the girls were captivated by the dolls from across India and countries like Germany, Poland, the Netherland, Switzerland, Russia, Indonesia, China, Japan, and many more. The handmade dolls showcased the rich cultures, traditional attire, and festivals of diverse communities from around the world.

Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

Class VIII and XI(Geography stream) visited the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary and Rampur Farm and took cognizance of the importance of national parks, and wildlife sanctuaries in conserving the ecosystem. Jindalites witnessed resident birds such as paddy field pipit, purple sunbird, Eurasian thick-knee, and also migratory birds such as yellow wagtail, northern shoveller, black-winged stilt, and many more. The visit provided the students with valuable insights into the important role played by birds in maintaining sustainable population levels of their prey and predator species and in plant reproduction through their services as pollinators or seed dispersers.  

National Modern Art Museum

Seventeen Jindalites – Five Arts Stream, visited the National Modern Art Museum, New Delhi. The students were enchanted by the Kalighat Paintings and visited the Calligraphic Store where they learned about the process of graphic printmaking, Tanjore-style painting and miniature paintings. The wood sculptures, bronze carvings, and Indian paintings, by renowned artists like D.P. Roy Choudhary and Ram Kinker Baij, Raja Ravi Verma, Amrita Shergill, Rabindranath Tagore, and M. F. Hussain enlightened the students about the intricacies and hard work invested in those timeless masterpieces.  

Market Survey at NH-10 Market

Students of Commerce from Classes XI-XII conducted a market survey at NH-10 Market

to understand the dynamics of the relationship between products, sellers and consumers. The survey comprised questions regarding the day-to-day operations and interactions of shopkeepers in the business and the tastes, preferences, and buying behaviour of the customers. The students also learned formal communication skills and recording of facts

keeping the comfort of the audience in mind.

Mehrauli Archaeological Museum and Qutb Minar

Students of History from Classes XI-XII visited the Mehrauli Archaeological Park and Qutb

Minar to develop an understanding of and appreciate the rare historical monuments representing the Indian architectural features of arches, Kufic and Nastaliq calligraphy, and the unique Indian metallurgy in the form of the Mehrauli Iron Pillar of King Chandra.

Stemrobo Technologies Pvt Ltd

25 students(Science Stream)  Stemrobo Technologies Pvt Ltd. During the interactive session on robotics, AI, and machine learning,  girls built their own robots called Cubebot, followed by installing a code into the micro bit to make the Cubebot functional. Jindalites had first-hand experience with the building and coding of the robotic arm used for industrial purposes, the coding involved in the process, and the working of a 3-D printer. The programmers and researchers of R&D briefed the students on the future career prospects of AI and its integration into other fields like law, medicine, and marketing.

National War Museum & Humayun’s Tomb

Students of Class X visited the historic India Gate, National War Memorial, and Humayun Tomb, Delhi, and discovered the history of these magnificent structures and their legacy. They visited the National War Memorial and learned about the heroic sacrifices made by the Defence Force of India in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and the importance of different stages or Chakras in the lives of soldiers. The girls were briefed about the history and marvellous structural specifications of  Humayun’s Tomb, one of the World Heritage sites of India, made in the late 17th century.

CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi

On 8th November; Class IX students, accompanied by 10 teachers, visited the CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi. Dr. Somya Jigyasa welcomed the students and introduced the students about the CSIR- NPL. She said that in NPL, research related to Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry and Electronics is conducted. CSIR-NPL has several labs, and many days are required to visit all

the labs. Four groups of students were made, and each group of students visited the following labs there:

Thin film lab, sensor lab, waste management lab and Helium and nitrogen lab. Visiting the laboratory was a great experience and the students got to learn a lot of new

things. The laboratory was well equipped and staff was very knowledgeable. The student had

a very enriching experience and learned a lot of new things. Towards the end of the day, everyone was led to the NPL cafeteria where they had lunch and then headed towards their

busses for the return journey. Overall, everyone had a quality experience and we wish to visit NPL and like institution again in the future.
